Coroplast, cotton thread, lightbulb

This project explores a biomimetic form inspired by the ethereal movement of a jellyfish or the fleeting glow of a red sprite, reimagined as an illuminated hanging pendant sculpture. Laser-cut coroplast petals mimic the color, brittleness, and structure of an exoskeleton, while red thread weaves through the design, evoking a natural, nerve-like system. Carefully placed holes and woven thread create a slightly bulbous, symmetrical form, resembling a specimen plucked from the ocean or sky, brought to life as a functional light. The final piece highlights intricate weaving, top and bottom perspectives, and a knotted thread handle.
