Cherimoya, or custard apple, is a reminder of family visits to Lima and lucky trips to the international market. While traditional dishes can be recreated with local ingredients, cherimoya stands out as something that can’t be easily replaced, as the natural flavors of Peru are hard to find elsewhere.
